Six months post surgery

Hubs and I enjoyed one of our rare overnights out last night!  Much fun last night but not feeling too hot today!  Can't believe it has been six months since my surgery.  LOVE LOVE LOVE that!!!  Good luck to all of the upcoming surgery peeps!  I will be cheering you all on! :)

  4. Mandy, you are absolutely gorgeous!!! I have followed your blog all the way through and am so happy you are done! What a transformation. Thanks for being so brave, posting pics, and blogging your experience.

My surgery is coming up May 10. Question: Is your chewing and sensation back to normal at this point?

  5. Thanks so much for the compliments! You all are so sweet!

lpadgett- my chewing pretty much normal although I still haven't tried biting into an apple or crunching anything hard yet. The roof of my mouth is still about 60% numb so I don't try to eat anything crazy. It is getting better slowly and doesn't really bother me at all! May 10th is right around the corner, you will do great!! :)

  7. Mandy, you look gorgeous. I am so happy that everything worked out so well for you :) You still look like YOU, but just a more improved version :)

How have you noticed people's reactions towards the change? I wouldn't say you look drastically different at all, but there is a noticeable change in the way you look. Do people who don't know you had surgery ask you what you've changed or anything like that?

  8. Dani- Everyone has different reactions....some family memebers are still shocked when I see them and you could knock them over with a feather....others don't think I look that different. It did take a few months to get used to that after surgery. I was a bit paranoid. But I am not AT ALL anymore. I don't really care what kind of reaction I get!

For me I feel like I don't look *THAT* different because I look pretty much the way I looked in pictures before surgery because I would push my jaw forward. I would delete or rip up any pics of my profile or my jaw not in the correct position. Guess that is why people always said I took such good pictures! hahaha

I am just so happy that this is behind me! I don't always have to be on guard about my jaw! Such a relief! :)

  9. One other quick question, I remember you mentioning bromelain as a swelling reducing supplement, but I just can't seem to find it? Where did you pick it up from?

  10. Dani- I am pretty sure I ordered the bromelain from amazon.com

    :)
